Girls face insurmountable issues every day, issues much different from those of her mother. According to the American Association for Health Education, modern girls have less self-confidence than their parents’ generation. When self-confidence is lacking, girls could fall prey to sex, drugs, dating violence, pregnancy, and other issues. We desire to embrace these young ladies by educating them regarding their self-worth and self-image, developing healthy self-esteem, building healthy relationships, overcoming peer-pressure and teen parenting. Our goal is to empower and equip them with the tools they need to successfully navigate through life’s challenges thus preparing and propelling them to womanhood.
“Have no part at all in the wrong things that young men like to do. Believe. Have love. Follow what is right. Live at peace. -2 Timothy 2:22-25
Raising boys has its challenges. Growing into manhood is not just physical it’s emotional too. We are aware of the absence of fathers in the lives of young men. Our boys need strong mentors and coaches to teach them the basics – a simple handshake, respecting elders and others. They need to learn how to handle peer pressure, anger, conflict and how to build healthy relationships.
We rally around young men, teaching them lessons on integrity and respect. Our goal is to provide strong male leadership to assist them with developing into young men who will positively impact their communities, schools, and eventually their families as fathers. We strive to instill strong work ethics and values, teaching them life skills that will help them accomplish goals and achieve the success God ordained for their lives.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. -1 John 4:18
One in four women will experience domestic violence during her lifetime. Domestic violence has no specific gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or income. Sadly, more than 3 million children witness domestic violence in their homes. These alarming statistics reveal only the reported numbers of women and children who live in fear every day. Many people ask the question, “Why don’t they just leave?” Well it just isn’t that easy. Women, who are paralyzed with fear, remain in abusive relationships for many reasons. Many are not financially able or emotionally ready. Some don’t have any place to go. They have to consider the stability of their children. Ultimately, many fear losing their lives. We provide emotional support, guidance and a listening ear to abused women. We assist with preparing an exit plan so that when they are ready to leave, they will know exactly what to do. We offer unique and creative classes, workshops and seminars that educate women, teen girls, churches and other organization on domestic violence prevention. We focus on healing emotional wounds, restoring self-esteem, and parenting children who witnessed domestic violence.
